These brave boys went into the jungle. Only one came out, Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger).
The jungle was the hunting ground of an iconic creature, the PREDATOR.
With all the big guys (Arnold, Jesse Ventura, Carl Weathers,...) who played the 
Special Forces, the Predator had to be played by a truly colossal guy.
That was Kevin Peter Hall, a 2.20 m high giant.
This little PREDATOR Story is dedicated to him.

Stanley 'Stan' Winston (April 7, 1946 – June 15, 2008) was a very famous 
special make-up effects creator. 
His fantastic work can be admired in many well known films: 
'The Thing', the 'Terminator' series, the 'Jurassic Park' films and the first 
two 'Predator' films just to name a few.
With the 'PREDATOR' he has created a true icon, played by Kevin Peter Hall.

Kevin Peter Hall played the Bigfoot in 'Harry and the Hendersons' and different other
creatures and aliens (Start Trek:The Next Generation) in his too-short career.
His career in the film industry ended suddenly and unexpectedly in a car accident. 
He was involved in a major car accident in Los Angeles and due to his injuries, 
he needed a blood transfusion and received a blood bag contaminated with AIDS.
Already weakened by the accident he had no fair chance and died as a result of the AIDS disease. 
Kevin Peter Hall died tragically on April 10, 1991, shortly before his 36 birthday.
Shannon Shea and Brian Simpson are doing their best to get Kevin into the 
heavy latex Predator suit. 
He hangs there like a suit in the wardrobe. A sweaty job for Kevin and the FX Crew.
Brian Simpson has two watches on his arm? 
Probably Kevin has given him his watch. A Predator does not need a watch!
Who is the Crew guy on the left?

Well, but this is not just a mask, its a mechanical, animatronic Predator head 
with some technical refinements, built by Richard Landon.

(Special Effects Character Creator & Monster Maker at Stan Winston Studio) are 
preparing the Predator suit for and on Kevin Peter Hall.
An icon was born and everyone wants to see it.

Stan Winston Studio/Legacy Effects, applies some fresh blood and gore on the booty 
of the Predator (left pic). On the right side we see him checking the 'red suit'.
The bright red suit was used to create the invisibility effect of the Predator (chroma keying).
