Helping to flesh out the look and feel of 'The Crow' were Production Designer Alex McDowell,
Art Director Simon Murton and Concept Illustrator Darren Gilford.
These artists will transform nebulous thought into concrete reality and they have captured the vision of the
James O'Barr comic book very well in their designs, sketches and illustrations and their realization in the movie.
All very close to the dark, romantic and violent rock'n'roll underground comic.

Darren Gilford is a very talented Illustrator and Production Designer with a penchant for science fiction.
He won a Saturn Award for his visionary production design on TRON, 2011.
Darren was the production designer of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015).
I love his futuristic production design on 'Oblivion' (2013).
Darren's CROW Illustrations give the director Alex Proyas an idea of what the production designer envisions.

Sketch of the Cathedral (model
miniature) by Art Director Simon Murton - Modelmaker Gus Ramsden is working on the Cathedral
miniature.
Gus was an extremely good model maker and worked on 'Dune' (1984) and
'The
Abyss' (1989).
(I heard he died 2012, is this true?)

Next to the model miniature the crew built a full-size Cathedral Set of
the front facade with the entrance area.
A cut scene with the great Skull Cowboy (Michael Berryman), of Special makeup effects magician
Lance Anderson, was shot here.
